Edith Margaret "Margaret" McMellon Timms

Margaret McMellon Timms, 91, resident of 1033 Kay Rd. passed away Thursday at Petra Nursing Center in McCormick, SC.

She was the widow of Wilborn Augustus "WA" Timms, Sr. and the daughter of the late William Thomas "WT" and Lillie Althea Bradberry McMelon.

She was a former seamstress with the Abbeville Shirt Plant and formerly attended Gilgal United Methodist Church.

Survivors include 5 sons, Rickey Timms of Iva; Mickey Timms of Mt. Pleasant; W.A. Timms, Jr. of Abbeville; Carroll Timms of Woodruff and Emanuel Timms of Greenwood; a daughter, Adair Upton of Greenwood; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Clamp; 2 sons, Ervin Timms and James Strickland; a brother, Arthur Thomas "Buck" McMelon.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday Feb. 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday afternoon prior to services at the funeral home.
