Edith Kimsey Hammond

January 29, 1926 — September 28, 2015

Edith Kimsey Hammond, 89, resident of Petra Healthcare in McCormick, SC widow of James Roy "Jimmy" Hammond passed away Monday Sept. 28, 2015 at Petra Healthcare.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC she was a daughter of the late Julius Arthur Kimsey and Eula Saxon Kimsey.

She was a former textile employee and retired homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. The family would like to send a special THANK YOU to the doctors, nurses and staff at Petra Healthcare for the loving and compassionate care that Edith received while she was there.

Survivors include three sisters Elsie Anderson (Wilton) of Calhoun Falls, SC, Gaynell Parks of Calhoun Falls, SC and Alice Charping of Calhoun Falls, SC; one brother Billy Kimsey (Martha) of Abbeville, SC.

She was preceded in death by a brother Julius A. Kimsey.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday Oct. 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie McCurry officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the graveside after services. The family will be at their respective homes.
