Dorothy Hall Kay, 82, resident of 501 S.C. 20 died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was a 1942 graduate of Winthrop College with a bachelor of arts degree. She was a homemaker and a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of the Long Canites and the ladies Sunday school class.
Surviving are widower, John C. Kay of the home; son, John Francis Luther Kay of Abbeville; daughters, Vivian Kay Moore of Decatur, Ala., and Karen Kay Higgins of Anderson; and a brother, Frank Hall of Dacusville.
She was the daughter of the late Luther W. and Clara Jordan Hall. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Hall, Pauline Waltrop and Bernice Hunt; and two brothers, Arthur Hall and Lawrence Hall.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Jeffery Lang and Roy E. Beckham; burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
