Diedre "Dede" Cadden Grant

Diedre “Dede” Cadden Grant, 63, of Abbeville, wife of Jim Grant, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at her home. She was born in Abbeville to the late Matril Cadden and Toby Cadden. Mrs. Grant retired from First Citizens Bank. She was happiest spending time as “Mimi” to her grandsons, Charlie and Hatcher Clark. Dede was best known as one to speak her mind, and stubborn and hardheaded as a mule. But, if you knew Dede, you know if she loved you, she LOVED you.

Surviving is her husband Jim Grant of the home at 202 Hillcrest Dr. Her son Tripp (Kayla) Clark of Waterloo and a daughter, adopted in our hearts, Kerri (Cliff) Donald of Anderson, SC. Two grandsons who meant more to Dede than life itself, Charlie and Hatcher Clark. Two brothers David (Marie) Cadden of Providence Forge, VA. And Ric (Stacey) Cadden of Greenwood, SC, a sister Melissa (Gene) Mason of Ware Shoals, SC and Aunt Debbie Cape of Abbeville. Six nieces and nephews DJ, Madeline, Caroline, Austin, Ryan and Anna Brook. And many others, MaryAnne Cape, Frankie McNair, Emily, Casey and Taylor McNair.

Dede was preceded in death by her mother, Matril Cadden, her father, Toby Cadden, her brother Timothy Cadden, and three uncles, Charles, Franklin and JD Cape.

A visitation will be held at Congregational Holiness Church located at 921 South Main St. in Abbeville, on Saturday January 18th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Care of the Piedmont Hospice located at 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC, 29646. A special thank you goes out to Kayla Beaty and Whitney Squire, nurses for Hospice and Eleaine Martin, CNA, and all of Hospice for their tireless dedication to the care given to Dede.
