Darrell Dewey Talbert, 50, of 1229 S. Main St. died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at his home.
Born in Abbeville, he was a former butcher and was the owner and operator of Talbert's Appliance Repair. He was an U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and attended the Congregational Holiness Church in Abbeville.
Surviving are wife, Cheryl Stevenson Talbert of Abbeville; mother, Dorothy "Dot" Hall Talbert of Abbeville; son, Chris Talbert of Abbeville; daughters, Diana T. Fetters of Houston and Erin Talbert of Abbeville; sister, Carlene T. Griffin of Abbeville; brother, James A. "Tony" Talbert of Beaumont, Texas; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, James B. Talbert.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Tye Sorrow officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military rites. The body is at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to the Congregational Holiness Church, 101 Perry St. for the building fund, Abbeville, S.C.
