Bobby Royce Burden

Bobby Royce Burden, 81, resident of 1200 Ravenwood Drive husband of Peggy Jane Burden passed away Monday Jan. 23, 2017 at The Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born March 4, 1935 he was a son of the late Lester Francis Burden and Annie Ruth Robertson Burden.

Bobby was retired from the maintenance dept. at Owens Corning Fiberglass with over 40 years of service. He was very active in his community as he was a Master Mason for over 50 years, former Senior Follies Member, Anderson County Outreach Entertainers, Sons of the Confederate Veterans and Senior Solutions. He was also a United States Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his beloved wife Peggy Jane Ashley Burden of the home; three daughters Lori Smart of Wilmington, OH, Caroline Bailey of Burlington, NC and Marcia Burden of Anderson, SC; four granddaughters Kala Danley, Reighanna Bailey, Karlie Burden and Mia Burden.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Bill and Harold Burden and a sister Doris Shaw.

A Celebration of Bobby's life will be conducted Thursday Jan. 26, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Concord Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 PM after services at the church.
