Betty Martin Turner, 82, resident of 103 Turner Lane widow of William F. "Bill" Turner passed away peacefully Wednesday morning July 12, 2017 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC with her loving family by her side.
Born in Abbeville, SC she was a daughter of the late Frank LeFoy Martin and Myrtle Rebecca Edwards Martin.
Betty was a retired homemaker and a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. She was currently attending Grace United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed reading, caring for her flowers and watching her birds. She found a special joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren but her heart was with caring for her late son Billy. She will be missed by her loving family and her many friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Davenport of Abbeville, SC and Evelyn Horton (Dudley) of Abbeville, SC; one brother, Frank (Butch) Martin of Greenville; two sister-in-laws, Barbara and Georgia Martin; five grandchildren, J.P. and Mark Davenport, Sara Beth Cooper, Turner and Hannah Horton; and five great-grandchildren, Gabe, Elizabeth, Landon, Kierstyn and Kalleigh Grace.
She was preceded in death by a son Billy Turner, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday July 14, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Revs. Tommy Cartledge and Jason Wilson officiating. The burial will follow in Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family is at the home of her daughter Mr. & Mrs. Dudley Horton 208 Millwood Rd. Abbeville, SC.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
