Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Price, 88, formerly of 250 Shrine Club Rd. resident of Abbeville Nursing Home passed away Tuesday Nov. 29, 2016 at the nursing home.
Born in Abbeville County July 22, 1928, he was a son of the late Tillman Otto Price and Mollie Cochran Price.
Ben proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Ben was a retired textile employee with Milliken textiles with over 40 years of service. Upon his retirement he enjoyed working on his farm, gardening hunting and fishing. Ben was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.
Ben was the last member of his immediate family, but was especially fond of Barry Jacks and his family as he thought of them as his own. He also had several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers James W. Price and Henry O. Price and two sisters Mary Irwin and Eleanor Price.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Friday morning in the social hall at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church prior to services.
