Barbara Ann Monroe Culbreth, 91, widow of the late John Robert “Bobby” Culbreth, resident of Hwy 20, entered into rest Sunday December 29, 2024 at her residence.
Born on December 13, 1933 in Abbeville to the late John Henry and Lucy Holmes Monroe, she retired from Capsule Gel in Greenwood after many years of service.
Barbara was a beloved mother, sister, and nana, her bright eyes and smile would light up a room. The love she had for her family was undeniable and her kind heart will be remembered by loved ones always.
Surviving are her children, Stephen Taylor of Abbeville, Tony Taylor (Margaret) of HI, and Lisa Taylor Compton of Abbeville; her brothers Walter Monroe, and George Monroe; her sisters, Shirley Hughs, and Mary Revels; her grandchildren, Katelyn Taylor, Julia Taylor, and Leah Reese (Dan); her great grandson Tyson Reese; 3 step children, 4 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis Tucker, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and a grandchild Alex Michael Compton.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 3, at 2:00 PM from the Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
