Anthony Alan "Tony" Southard, 52, resident of 402 Byrnes Ave. husband of Amy Southard passed away Wednesday May 3, 2017 at The Hospice House in Greenwood, SC.
Tony was born Nov. 18, 1964 a son of the late Don L. Southard, Sr. and Helen Booth Southard.
Tony was a graduate of Abbeville High School Class of 1982. He also graduated from Piedmont Technical College with a Degree in Robotics. He was very active in his community having served as a Cub Scout Leader of Troop #93. He was the owner & operator of Abbeville Sporting Goods Store. People will remember the Store Club of Tony's during the spring festival and all the fun and laughs we shared. It goes without saying that if you knew Tony Southard you knew how much of a diehard Clemson Tiger fan he was. When Tony was fighting his battle with cancer Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney sent him a special video and told him to never stop fighting and Go Tigers! Tony attended Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Tony found the most joy in his life was spending time with his precious Amy and his loving son Michael. Abbeville will never again know another Tony Southard who did so many things for so many people that no one ever knew about but that was just Tony!! His loving family and his many, many friends will miss him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Amy Sanders Southard and a son Michael Southard of the home; three brothers Donnie L. Southard, Jr. (Donna) of Abbeville, SC, Eddy Southard (Patsy) Monks Corner, SC and Wayne Southard (Leslie) of Greenwood, SC; one sister Jackie Stone (Larry) of Anderson, SC; his mother and father- in- law Charles and Dorothy Sanders of Anderson; his brother-in-law Chad Sanders and his sister-in-law Kayla Sanders both of Starr, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday May 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM in The Family Life Center at Abbeville First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Catoe, Ray Massey and Marion Argo officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Abbeville First Baptist Church. The family is at the home 402 Byrnes Ave. Abbeville, SC.
