Annie Palmer Hannah, 95, entered into eternal rest Thursday April 14, 2016 at Abbeville Nursing Home.
She was the widow of the Edward David Hannah and a daughter of the late James Frank Palmer and Alice Robison Palmer.
She was born Nov. 14, 1920 in the Central-Shiloh Community of Abbeville County where she lived for 85 years prior to moving to the Due West Retirement Center (Renaissance) and Wesley Common Retirement Center.
She enjoyed a full life blessed as a wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt and friend to many. She enjoyed being a homemaker and living on the family farm and participating in all community activities. She was a faithful and active member of Hodges Presbyterian Church, involved in many activities including Sunday School and Ladies Circle. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School. She worked as a seamstress with the Abbeville Shirt Plant for many years. She was a 4-H Leader and a member of the Home Demonstration Club. A special pleasure of hers was playing games and cards with family and friends. Annie and her late husband were inspirational in the founding and development of the Central-Shiloh Community Center. She will be remembered as being one of the last true Southern Belles.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Alice Hall (Mark) of Abbeville, SC; a brother Dr. Robert M. Palmer (Alice) Columbus, NC; two grandchildren Timothy "Tim" Hall (Cindy) and Allison Hall; one great-great grandson Brayden Hall; a number of nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Elizabeth Bruce Palmer.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Joyce Ann Hannah, brothers and sister-in-laws Frank and Edna Palmer, and Andy and Minnie Palmer.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday April 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Hodges Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Hampton Hunter and Lee Kennerly officiating. The burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the Hodges Presbyterian Church social hall prior to services.
