Andrew Wade “Andy” Davis, 59, affectionately known as “Booty” by his family and friends, beloved husband of Janna Justice Davis, died peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2019 at his home, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Andy was born in Abbeville to the late Andrew and Eleanor Davis. Andy was a life-long resident of Abbeville and a 1977 graduate of Abbeville High School. Andy began his career in Abbeville with CSX Railroad. He later became the owner of Burgertown and also taught driver’s education for Lakelands Driving Academy.
Andy loved spending time with his family and cooking and grilling for family and friends. He also enjoyed playing softball and golf with his buddies. Andy had a heart of gold and unconditional love for all he knew. His favorite roles were husband, father, papa, brother and foster dad. He and his wife fostered thirty-six children and adopted four children to make their family complete.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janna Justice Davis, of the home; a sister, Lynn Sorrow (Paul) of Greenwood; three sons, Drew (Amanda), Ryan, and Zach (fiancé, Jessica); three daughters, Megan, Amber, and Skyler; and three grandsons, Aiden, Price, and Parker Davis; and Mother–in–law Carol Justice Bell (Howard).
Services will be held at 4 pm on Sunday at Abbeville First Baptist Church Family Life Center with the Rev. Frank Smith, his brother-in-law officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2-4pm. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Scott Sutherland, Glenn Beauford, Scott White, Chris Ceraldi, Joey Cann, Brad Jackson, Johnny Meyers, Frankie Milford, Gary Horne, and Frankie Hodges.
Honorary pallbearers will be classmates and friends from the Class of 1977, his God children, and his foster children.
“Booty” requested that his friends wear golf shirts to his service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Andy’s honor may be made to the Christmas Angel Tree, c/o Main Street United Methodist Church, PO Box 656, Abbeville, SC 29620.
