Allie Mae Burton Carwile

Allie Mae Burton Carwile, 92, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home, formerly of Highway 201 Level Land died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at the nursing home.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a homemaker and a member of Little River Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies Bible Class.

Surviving are daughter, Estherphine C. Ashley of Abbeville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Mahlon Carwile and the daughter of the late Joseph Fields and Sally Fleming Burton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Services are at 4 p.m. Monday at Little River Baptist Church by the Revs. Charles Fuller and Larry Mize; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at Little River Baptist Church, prior to services.

The family suggests memorials be made to Little River Baptist Church, Little River Community, Honea Path, S.C. 29654.
