Albert Lanford Martin, 88, formerly of 372 Thomson Circle, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Abbeville Nursing Home.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Abbeville Mills Maintance of the weaving department with 52 years of service. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Abby M. McCord of Abbeville; sister, Mary Frances Nickels of Dallas, Texas; and two granddaughters.
He was the widower of Ida Woolbright Martin and the son of the late Walter S. and Janie Bowie Martin.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church by the Rev. Darren Hook; burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby McCord, 169 Horne Drive, Abbeville.
The family suggests memorials be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 100 E. Greenwood St., Abbeville, S.C. 29620.
