James “Pete” Albert Loftis, 89, resident of 3764 Hwy. 72 passed away Tuesday Feb. 13, 2018 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Lowndesville, SC he was a son of the late Albert Marshall Loftis and Millie Louise Hill Loftis.
He was twice married first to the late Ann Minor Loftis.
Pete was a United States Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. Before retirement he worked for Josephine Abney Estates as a caretaker for over 57 years. Pete was also an avid NASCAR Racing fan. He was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife Mae Carter Page of the home; one borther Cliff Lofts (Jean) of Calhoun Falls, SC; one step-daughter Penny King; one step-son Kirk Page; nephews Danny Loftis (Deanna), Delaine Haynie (Timmy), Ronnie Binns (Pat), Randy Binns and Jeff Binns; A special young man in his life Jack Abney, Jr.; dear and special friend Mrs. Josephine Abney.
He was preceded in death by a sister Betty Binns and brothers L.T. Loftis and Dean Loftis.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday Feb. 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Brent Lollis, Pastor John Ellis and Mr. Harry Osborne officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home of his brother Mr.& Mrs. Cliff Loftis 3764 Hwy. 72 Calhoun Falls, SC.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to services.
